Art. 1 Definitions
Meaning of the terms used in these rules:
LUGGAGE STORAGE: the area designated for people to leave luggage and/or small personal items, fixtures and related administrative organisation;
DEPOSITOR: the individual using the Luggage Storage service. The luggage storage service consists in storing luggage/items in automatic lockers/miniboxes from the day and time they are left until the day and time they are collected.
Art. 2 Items permitted in the luggage storage
At the moment of leaving the luggage, the Depositor declares that such luggage does not contain items that are not allowed to be stored under Art. 3.
The following items can be left in storage, provided they do not exceed the capacity of the individual locker: suitcases, hampers, bags, travelling bags and the like, keys, personal items, documents. All luggage must be closed properly.
In any case, Self Luggage Storage shall not be liable for money, jewellery, precious metals, business documents and valuables in general placed in the individual lockers which, as indicated in Art. 3, are not allowed to be stored.
Luggage is left in the Luggage Storage by the owner and/or carrier or by their representative, or by the person materially in possession of the luggage.
Self Luggage Storage has the right, at its own discretion, to check the contents of luggage in storage.
THE DEPOSITOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENTS OF THE LUGGAGE WHICH MUST NOT INCLUDE PROHIBITED ITEMS. THE DEPOSITOR MUST NOT EVER BE A PERSON OR AN ORGANISATION WITH WHOM/WHICH IT IS ILLEGAL TO TRADE UNDER ANY APPLICABLE LAW OR REGULATION.
Art. 3 Luggage not permitted for storage
The following must not be stored on the premises:
1- Luggage containing goods or materials that are easily flammable, perishable, give off strong odours or that could cause a deterioration of the Luggage Storage infrastructure or damage to other luggage stored on the premises;
2 – Money, jewellery, precious metals, business samples and documents and valuables in general;
3 – Luggage weighing more than 25kg;
4 – The Luggage Storage is not liable for the state, upon collection, of the luggage and personal items left in storage.
5 – It is FORBIDDEN to store animals and plants on the premises;
6 – Access to the luggage storage is permitted to persons above 18 years old and accompanied minors;
7 – No perishable foodstuffs may be left in storage;
8 – The Customer must check the size of their luggage on the premises or on the website, in any case before booking;
9 – The Customer must ensure that the locker door is secured properly before leaving Self Luggage Storage;
10 – Smoking on the premises is strictly forbidden;
11 – The Customer must not leave anything in the locker when collecting their items and leaving Self Luggage Storage for the last time;
12 – The Customer is responsible for their luggage and its contents;
13 – Articles that are forbidden by law or are considered hazardous under national regulations and also articles that could, by their very nature or packaging, cause harm to people, the environment or to other luggage being stored are not permitted;
14 – Materials that could be considered pornographic or indecent are not permitted;
15 – Firearms and/or bladed weapons are not permitted;
16 – Trash cannot be stored on the premises;
17 – NARCOTICS OR PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES ARE NOT PERMITTED.
Art. 4 Luggage Storage’s opening hours for the public
Opening hours for the public are every day from 8am to 11pm.
Closed: 25 – 26 December, 1 January.
Art. 5 Storage security
The Luggage Storage is equipped with 24/7 video surveillance.
Telephone assistance is available to the customer (in Italian and English) every day during opening hours (see Art. 4).
Art. 6 Access to the Luggage Storage for service requirements
Access to the Luggage Storage is always permitted to the staff of Self Luggage Storage who oversee and manage the service and to officers of the State Police, Finance Police and others belonging to law enforcement.
THE CUSTOMER ACCEPTS THAT THESE OFFICERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO OPEN AND INSPECT THE LUGGAGE AT ANY MOMENT FOR SECURITY REASONS.
Art. 7 Leaving luggage and personal items for storage
When leaving luggage and personal items in the Luggage Storage, the Depositor must read the rules and then confirm that they have read them by accepting the terms and conditions of use.
Upon leaving luggage and personal items, the Depositor is given a receipt showing: code, date, time, address.
The Depositor pays the storage charge in two parts:
– Advance (see Art. 8 Charges) at the moment of leaving the luggage;
– Balance at the moment of collecting the luggage (see Art. 8 Charges).
Art. 8 Charges
The charges for storage and custody of the luggage are established by Self Luggage Storage and are displayed to the public on the Luggage Storage premises and on this website. Payment of the amount due for storage is indicated in the charges, which are specified below:
Price per day – minibox
From 8am to 11pm: € 4.50 basic charge.
For every additional day € 2.00*
* the amount for the FIRST DAY is paid in full at the time of booking, which can be done on the premises by credit card or cash or online by credit card.
THE BALANCE IS PAID UPON COLLECTION of the luggage/personal effects.
Price for lockers
2h = € 4.00
4h = € 6.50
6h = € 9.50
from 7h to 24h = € 12.00
> 24h = € 12.00 + € 10.00 day;
You pay for just the first two hours immediately, the difference is paid later when you return to collect your luggage.
Book online for a 10% discount – booking is valid for the whole day only (8am to 11pm).
We only accept reservations made at least 24 hours in advance.
Art. 9 Collection of luggage
The Depositor may collect the luggage stored on the premises by paying the balance due if the luggage has been stored for longer than the time associated with the minimum charge, calculated according to the charges listed in Art. 8.
Art. 10 Failure to collect stored luggage
Once 31 days have elapsed since the luggage was left, any items not collected are considered abandoned and the Depositor will lose any right to compensation or reimbursement for them. The Depositor may extend the deadline for collection by contacting Self Luggage Storage by email firstname.lastname@example.org specifying such request within and no later than the 31st day.
The Luggage Storage may, at its discretion, sell and/or destroy and/or keep the luggage and its contents. If you wish to submit a claim for lost or damaged luggage or for other damages, you must comply with the provisions of national law, otherwise Self Luggage Storage reserves the right to reject the claim.
Art. 11 Return of forgotten luggage
The return of forgotten luggage must be arranged entirely by the Depositor, who also bears the entirety of the cost.
The Depositor will arrange collection by courier.
Art. 12 Liability
The Luggage Storage is not liable for any damage and/or natural deterioration of luggage or of personal items stored under its direct custody and not attributable to its negligence or to causes associated with storage.
Luggage Storage is not liable in any capacity for damage or loss due to unforeseeable events, force majeure and/or natural occurrences such as, for example but not limited to, earthquake and/or high water.

Art. 14 Terms and conditions and amendments to the rules
By taking the receipt the Depositor fully accepts all the terms and conditions laid down in these Rules, a copy of which is available for consultation at the office of Self Luggage Storage and online on the website selfluggagestorage.it.
Self Luggage Storage reserves the right to amend these Rules in light of experience and needs that may arise during actual performance of the activity covered by these Rules.
Art. 15 Jurisdiction
The Parties expressly agree that the Court of Venice will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that may arise regarding the interpretation and/or effectiveness and/or implementation of these Rules.
Art. 16 Translation
The translation of the GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS of Self Luggage Storage is for information purposes only and is provided out of courtesy.
In the event of a dispute, the Italian text will prevail.
